Bible Verses About Loving One Another
Of all the things Jesus could have left his followers with on his final night, he chose this: love one another. Not a doctrine to defend, not a boundary to guard — a way of treating each other. The New Testament returns to it constantly, as if everything else depends on getting this one thing right. These verses gather that command in its plainest form.

A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
The sign he names is not belief, or eloquence, or being right. It is love for one another. That alone, he says, is how people will know.
Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
The test is reversed from what we expect. Not 'those who love know God,' but more startling: those who fail to love do not yet know him.
Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
The logic is simple and inescapable. Having been loved like that, we owe the same outward, not back.
Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another.
Preferring one another — going first, putting the other ahead. A small daily competition to honor, of all things.
And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
Above all things. When love is fervent enough, it absorbs the friction of living close to other imperfect people.
