Bible Verses About Loneliness

Loneliness is one of the most searched topics on Bible websites — which tells you something about how many people are sitting with it quietly. Scripture doesn't offer easy fixes. But it offers something more durable: the consistent, repeated promise that you are not as alone as you feel.

Psalm 68:6
God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.

God's response to loneliness, in this verse, is community. Not explanation — placement. He sets the solitary somewhere.

Matthew 28:20
Lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.

Always. Not sometimes, not when you feel it. The promise is unconditional and permanent.

Deuteronomy 31:8
And the Lord, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.

He goes before — not behind, watching. Before, clearing the path. You are not alone even in the unknown ahead.

Psalm 22:24
For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hidden his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard.

The cry of the lonely is heard. It is not ignored, not dismissed. Heard.

Hebrews 13:5
For he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Never. That word appears for a reason. Whatever loneliness feels like, this is what is actually true.
